The summer before last, my brother Ian and I covered about 100 miles via hiking and packrafts. Heavy packs, poor fitness on my end leading up to the trip, and some sketchy shoes led me to some mega blisters 15 miles in on the first day. I was using Altra lone peak running shoes, the first backpacking trip I had taken with them...Bad Idea! A packrafting shoe needs to be lightweight and dry fast, yet still have enough support for hauling a big backpack. The lone peaks were simply way too minimal for the type of hiking and loads involved.

What is the best shoe for packrafting, while having to hike with a 70lb pack!?
