Increasing skills in the Southwest

Hello Friends,

I am interested in getting some ideas for future packrafting trips in the Southwest. I've done about 20 miles of packrafting in Grand Canyon (all using Matkat Flatwater boats from Supai Adventure Gear) but would like to expand my horizons. I've read Forrest McCarthy's trip reports, and just found this podcast that might give me some additional ideas in UT, but I'm wondering if there are spots to get beta similar to how ropewiki works for canyoneering, or groups I could join on Facebook. The San Juan river is on my list, but I'm looking for shorter trips to get more experience. I was in Sedona in March after some rains and it looked like somebody was trying to hitch a ride upriver and then raft back to their car. This sort of trip might take more skill, luck, and finely-tuned local knowledge, but any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
