Cleaning suggestions?

Finished a thru hike of the Long Trail and our packs absolutely stink. BO! I don't mind the dirt and grass stains but the BO smell is bad. Any suggestions or recommendations for getting these things smelling better so we don't offend others and ourselves? Thanks!
